Since the beginning of July, the volume of passenger rail traffic in the southern direction has grown by 13.2% compared to the same period last year, amounting to 59.2 million passengers, Russian Railways reports.
In long-distance transportation, the company transported 7.4 million people, which is 22.6% more than a year ago.
Last week, an additional 50,000 tickets went on sale in communication with the resorts of the Black Sea coast, and transportation of four large children’s groups was also organized.
51.8 million passengers (+12%) were transported in suburban traffic during the reporting period. In many ways, new routes contribute to growth – since July 15, rail buses began to run in the north of Karelia, the company notes.
